Matt Moore is an author of horror and dark science fiction who’s been writing stories since he could clutch a pencil and carve block letters into handwriting paper.
Selling his first story in 2007, he’s had over 30 works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry published in a number of magazines and anthologies. In that time, he’s been a finalist for the Aurora and Friends of the Merril Short Story Contest, and longlisted for the Sunburst Awards. His stories tend to put regular, everyday people between opposing extremes—the humane and the monstrous, vengeance and forgiveness, tradition and modernity, faith and fact. Often, while there is no right choice, there is room for hope.
His first full-length work, the short story collection It’s Not the End and Other Lies, will be published in 2018. It is now available for pre-order from ChiZine Publications.
Beyond writing, he is the Co-Chair of ChiSeries Ottawa, a quarterly reading series of leading speculative fiction authors.
Raised in small town New England, a place rich with legends and ghost stories, he now live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
